Content analysis studies

2 researchers have started content analysis and the following media outlets are involved:

Methodology
Media research on investigative materials will find out how the media has covered particular cases of corruption, specially it will describe the content and structure of the reports/features on corruption, evaluate the coverage of corruption case, determine the similarities and differences in the way different media sources covered corruption issues, to present sound, data-based assessment of the performance of media in its coverage, to discuss the possible impact of the coverage on audiences and to offer some recommendations on how to it may be improved.

SPSS soft ware was bought and installed to the researchers computers.

Basic information about the materials to be analyzed will be included in the list of variables, which are as follows:

3. Day
4. Type
5. Source
6. Location
7. Frequency
8. Photos
9. Cartoon
10. Size/l length
11. Personalities or organization/key actors
12. Treatment of personalities/issues
13. Topic/issues raised

Researches will produce mid-term report on content analysis in April 2005.
Researchers and project staff regularly meet in order to discuss the details of content analysis.
