Media and Women

Mama Cash funded 6 months project was run in cooperation with Mongolian Free and Democratic Journalists Association.

The project's long- term goal is to strengthen actions for a better understanding of women's contribution in Mongolia, work towards allowing women journalists to benefit from the same rights as their male colleagues in the access to leading positions within the media, raising awareness in the media of women's rights, assist in enhancing the position of women in the media and increasing role of women journalists in media; specifically in policy-making areas

ACTIVITIES

Survey: Role of women journalists in the media and society

The 2-days round table was held on April 30- May 1, 2001 in Ulaanbaatar due to World Press Freedom day. The round table involved 44 participants in total; 15 journalists from the provinces, 14- from Ulaanbaatar, 15 representatives of women NGO.
