Media campaign
Media campaign will be run in 2 stages
for 8 months starting from February 2005. Editors and
directors of Channel 25 television, TV9, Unen (The Truth),
daily and Mongolyn Medee (Mongolian News), daily have
already expressed their willingness to run media campaign.
From the 9 media outlets, which was involved to this event and about 13 professional journalists was awarded by the project implementers. The project implementers highly appreciated the journalist's anti-corruption work and have challenged them to combat with corruption and to qualify the content corruption concerned materials, also to work at exclusively high professional level and be respected by the surrounding community and have the ability to influence others. Media campaign
"Corruption is everybody's concern"
Contest is called
during te period of February- October 2005 and aimed
at promotion of political committment and educate the
public on impacts of corruption to the soicety. Publications
and programmes should be at the professional level using
many janres of modern journalism such as interviews,
features, articles, public discussions and so on. Editor
and journalism conducted the best media campaign produsctions
shall be awarded and 3000 USD shall be spent for the
prizes.
Criteria for selection.
1. Particular media outlet should
devote constant air time and space to the campaign
2. Campaign should provide systematic uknowledge to
the public on corruption, its nature, types and socio-economic
impacts
3. Different journlaism janres should be used efficiently
4. Issues/topics raised during the campaign should be
covered understable and popular to the public
5. Broadcasters should transmit corruption spots produced
by the project free of charge
6. Newspapers should publish inverstigative materials
produced as output of the qorkshops free of charge.
Authoritative and professional jury
will assess the media campaign and announce the results
by October 20, 2005 10 media
outlets; 6 newspapers and 4 broadcast media have joined
to the media campaign. by the time.
